WIGJ welcomes Barclays as Corporate Ambassador and partners at London event on 23 January

Women in Games is pleased to welcome Barclays Ventures to its Corporate Ambassador programme joining the likes of Dovetail, Outplay, 2K, Creative Assembly, Rockstar, Ubisoft and Sumo. Barclays Ventures’ mission is to grow new businesses through next generation propositions and capabilities.

David Gowans, Head of Creative Technologies of Barclays Ventures said, “As we support UK Industry in Barclays it’s important we support everyone and help provide opportunities to women and girls in games, I look forward to supporting a programme of activity with WIGJ to do just that.”

Marie-Claire, CEO of Women in Games commented, “I am delighted to welcome Barclays Ventures as our newest Corporate Ambassador. This is particularly timely and significant as Women in Games focus on its 2020 programme of UK activities across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. According to a wide range of sources whilst there is evidence diverse teams are good for business but there has been little tangible progress in gender diversity in the last 10 years. We will work closely with Barclays Ventures to activate new and innovative ways to increase gender diversity within our sector. My vision is to see the Games Industry lead as a shining example in the forthcoming #DiversityDecade and our Corporate Ambassadors will play a major part in that plan.

The first partnership between Women in Games and Barclays takes place with an open event at Barclays Head Office in Canary Wharf, E14 on Thursday, 23 January from 5.30 pm. The Barclays Game Technology Frenzy is designed to showcase the best of the games industry and a Panel from the Women in Games Executive team is part of an agenda that includes industry speakers, an interactive exhibition, esports tournament and networking drinks. This event is an informal and interactive event with plenty of opportunities to network, learn and grow. It is open to all and over 200 are expected. Please register via our Meetup Group at

We look forward to seeing a great turn out!
