Calling all Educational Institutions who want to be further involved in the Games Industry

Today we are excited to be launching a Women in Games Educational Ambassadors Programme to complete our Ambassadors EcoSystem of Individual Ambassadors and Corporate Ambassadors.

We are seeking Founding Women in Games Educational Ambassadors.  If you are an Educational Institution: college, university, private provider, trainer or awarding body join us on our mission to identify and effect the lasting change needed to bring about full gender equity and parity in the games sector and who believe in our vision of a games industry, culture and community free of gender discrimination, where full equity of opportunity, treatment and conditions empowers ALL women, of any age, of any race, of any background, any ethnicity, any sexual orientation, to achieve their full potential.

Dr. Ruth Falconer, Head of Division: Games Tech and Maths for Abertay University and Director of Education for Women in Games commented “I am delighted that the Educational Ambassador scheme has been launched. There is still much work to be done in addressing gender imbalance in the Game Industries and the Education sector has a key role to play. I look forward to working with Universities, Colleges, trainers and awarding bodies in realising the ambitions of Women in Games.”

Marie-Claire Isaaman, CEO of Women in Games said, “The work of the educational sector in developing diverse talent for the games industry is absolutely vital. Women in Games has a global network of talented game industry professionals, access to some of the most exciting games studios in the world and by joining up the educational sector through our Ambassadors Ecosystem we create a flowing conduit, that connects professional individuals, industry and educators to each other, enabling genuine collaborations to take place. These meaningful connections take us closer toward  achieving our vision of a games industry, culture and community free of gender discrimination”.

All Founding Women in Games Educational Ambassadors (who have joined us by August 20) will have the unique opportunity to take an active part in the Women in Games Global Conference (WIGGC) which has been supported by Innovate U.K. The WIGGC is taking place online on Hopin, an innovative  online conference platform, during  week commencing 7th September – further detailed announcements to follow soon.
