Wow, what a lot going on! We are still buzzing from our win at the MCV/DEVELOP Awards, where we picked up the accolade of Best Event for our Careers, Development & Networking Expo.

This was a particular stand-out moment for us, as it wasn’t a ‘women’s’ award, nor was it a diversity category – although of course we are very proud of each award we’ve picked up over the past couple of years. Our events are really important to the Women in Games community, providing a safe space for networking, learning and inspiration, so we’re delighted to have been recognised by the industry at large for our work.

Speaking of events, we’ve got a busy time ahead of us, as the European industry heads to Brighton next week. We will be hosting a roundtable session on Men As Allies, a topic that is really important if we are to create a fair playing field for women and girls in both the industry and in gaming spaces. Please join us – and encourage your male colleagues and friends to join us on Tuesday at 5pm at the Develop:Brighton Conference.

Our Cake & Fizz networking event takes place on Wednesday and, as ever, has sold out. We’re looking forward to meeting with friends and supporters, and we thank Hangar13 Games and Naturalmotion for sponsoring the event.

If you’re not heading to Brighton, we are hosting our second Social Network Gathering on Wednesday July 10th. This virtual event gives our community the opportunity to network and create new connections in a safe and welcoming space. It’s a busy and exciting time for Women in Games – we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible, in person and online, soon!
