The Annual Ambassador Only Gathering – powered by Keywords Studios – took place last month, bringing together our Ambassador community for a day of learnings and inspiration.

With a theme of ‘Empowerment Through Connection’, the speaker sessions focused on the key areas of ‘My Story’, ‘My Event’, and ‘My Giving Back’. In addition, Women in Games introduced ‘My Resources’ outlining additional tools for all Women in Games Ambassadors.

We’re delighted to have seen so many of our ambassadors take part in the event, spending an average of four hours and 33 minutes in the event (attendees were also able to catch up on sessions missed via ‘Replay’) and giving the event an overall average score of 9.1/10.

Some 25.5% attended the event from the UK, 16.3% from the US, 4.8% from Canada, 3.9% from Germany, 3.4% from Poland, and 46% from ‘Other’.

During the day, we hosted a series of polls to gauge Ambassadors’ thoughts in a number of areas.

When asked about their primary reason for attending, 29.9% said for learning; 25.8% responded that they wanted to get inspiration, 23.3% claimed they wanted to hear examples of Ambassador events and activities, and 18.3% wanted to network.

In terms of their goals as Ambassadors, 36.8% want to raise awareness of Women in Games within their organisations, and 28.1% are looking to network with other Ambassadors.

Of those attending the event, over 53% are Senior or Lead/Head level within their organisations, 18.3% are Directors and 23.9% are Junior/Associate level.

Women in Games Ambassador Director & Co-Director Gemma Johnson-Brown said: “The Annual Ambassador Only Gathering was once again a great day of inspiration and education for all, and we are grateful to all our speakers for sharing their stories, thoughts and advice. We’ve had some great feedback from attendees on the speaker programme, and on the new resources we are providing to Ambassadors. We thank everyone for attending, and of course a big thank you to Keywords Studios for powering the Ambassador Programme.”

Athena Enderstein, Keywords Studios Head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, added: “The Ambassador Gathering was a great success this year. It truly fulfilled the theme of Empowerment Through Connection, with Ambassadors from across the world sharing their stories and activities. Working for gender equality is often daunting and challenging, but as the Ambassadors show, collaboration and collective action can have a powerful impact.”
