Westminster eForum – Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman to keynote

The UK video games sector – next steps for growth and investment, skills and inclusion, developing the sector’s positive role, and addressing concerns – will be the topic of discussion at the upcoming Westminster eForum.

Taking place on Wednesday February 23rd, this online conference will focus on the future for UK video games – looking at policy issues, latest developments, and strategic and commercial priorities.

It is bringing together key stakeholders and policymakers to assess:

  • what is needed to enable the sector to build on success and further grow its international profile, as well as to advance investment, skills, partnerships, and business development
  • latest developments in knowledge exchange, harnessing emerging technology, merchandising, reducing environmental impact, and improving diversity and access
  • how to realise the full potential of games to deliver societal benefits in areas such as education, fundraising, and health
  • progress on tackling links between gambling and gaming, transparency in marketing, and protecting vulnerable groups from online harms such as gaming addiction and ‘toxic’ online culture

The conference will also be a timely opportunity to consider how relevant policy and regulatory developments, such as the ICO’s Children’s Code and the Government’s review of the Gambling Act, will impact the video games sector.

Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman will provide a keynote, alongside Ukie CEO Dr Jo Twist and Stephen Bonner, Executive Director, Regulatory Futures and Innovation, Information Commissioner’s Office.
