Women in Games Careers, Development and Networking Expo

Women in Games is pleased and proud to announce our forthcoming online global Careers and Networking Expo – the first of 2023 –  on the 9th of March.

March is Women’s History and Heritage Month, and our Careers and Networking Expo will take place alongside International Women’s Day as part of the rich calendar of global events celebrating women’s achievements and potential across all fields of society.

As the leading force for gender equality in the games and esports sectors, Women in Games will bring together our global community in a day-long exploration of what it means to progress and develop as a professional woman in the games and esports sector.

No-one knows better than game makers and players how important collaboration is to success, and the Women in Games Careers and Networking Expo will provide a  day full of collaborative, insightful, interactive sessions across global time zones. Designed to address our themes of progression and professional development, the Expo will provide  inspiring talks, extensive networking opportunities, and this edition’s innovation – Ask Me Anything sessions – designed to bring professional women from all over the world together with experts in their fields.  There is immense diversity of opportunity in the games and esports sectors, and industry-leading companies who care about gender equality will provide insights into how they support women in their ambition to progress.

A successful career is built on knowledge, focus, experience, inspiration, insight and finding a work environment where you can belong – it’s a complex mix, but one foundational element that can’t be missed out is support. It’s this particular element that makes the Women in Games Careers and Networking Expo so valuable. Attendees will be able to network with fellow professionals in a mutually supportive environment, and meet companies who are actively committed to gender equality and the tangible benefits that a fair and encouraging work environment can provide.

Hopin is our chosen online platform. It enables us to open the world of work in games and esports to attendees, providing welcoming spaces dedicated to networking, discussion, and exchanging ideas.

Our events have a well-deserved reputation for providing safe, supportive and playful spaces in which to learn and interact. Keywords Studios powers the Women in games Individual Ambassador Programme, and Trina Marshall, Keywords’ Group Director of Client Service and Delivery, and Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging says:

People talk about ‘safe spaces, brave spaces’ – as a speaker at a Women in Games event it felt like a very safe, brave space to be in, where I felt taken care of all the way through. As an attendee, I could select what was relevant and what was interesting for me, taking advantage of accessibility during and post event through the rewind facility – there was always going to be something of interest – not only relevant but diverse topics, for a really wide audience.

As always, it is Women in Games’ overriding purpose to build a better, fairer, more equal place to work and play, and we look forward to providing a space of belonging for knowledge creation and collaboration at the Women in Games Careers, Development and Networking Expo, March 9th, 2023.
