KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR OUR SATELLITE EVENTS DURING THE WOMEN IN GAMES FESTIVAL

The Women in Games Festival encompasses a number of events, including the Careers & Networking Expo, the Annual Conference, the Women in Games Global Awards and the Creative Leadership Labs.

But once again, we have opened up the Festival to our allies and associated community groups around the world, to allow them to host Satellite Events during the Festival fortnight (September 6th – 17th).

The Satellite Events programme is sponsored by our Corporate Ambassador Virtuos, which will be kicking things off with its own event hosted by its Black Shamrock studio in Dublin.

Tea Talks With Black Shamrock is a hybrid onsite and online event which aims to bring aspiring game creators and members of the industry together to help improve understanding and accessibility through talks and group discussions. And in particular, it seeks to help young women looking to make their way into a career related to games. Activities include a brunch forum to bring forth women’s perspective of working in the video games industry and encourage dialogue, as well as a CV/portfolio clinic, alongside other social activities to encourage networking. Refreshments are provided!

Milena Gerber, Senior Recruiter at Black Shamrock, a Virtuos Studio, said: “Virtuos is excited to see the return of the Women in Games Festival this year, which has proven to be a great opportunity to highlight the importance of gender equity and parity within the games and creative industries. Being the headline sponsor of Satellite Events allows us to demonstrate our support for communities worldwide, and uplift more women to achieve their full potential through networking and building valuable connections.”

We are looking forward to revealing a host of other events over the next few days, so please check in here to see our on-going updated schedule.
