REDHILL & WARGAMING LEAD THE WAY FOR WOMEN AT GDCY

Here’s a great example of the power of collaboration! Individuals from two of our Corporate Ambassadors – Redhill Games and Wargaming – recently teamed up to host a woman-led panel session at GDCyFest.

The event, which took place at the end of May, is the only game development conference in Cyprus and attracts industry professionals from the region and beyond.

Katya Dolgova from Redhill Games and Marina Sevastidou (also a Women in Games Individual Ambassador) from Wargaming created the panel session to focus on high performing teams in the current challenging industry environment.

Marina moderated the session which focused on:

  • Best practices for building and sustaining high performing teams.  How to attract and retain talent.
  • Approaches to upskilling, D&I practices and embedding a learning culture.
  • The impact of remote work on team dynamics and continuous development.
  • Upskilling existing talent vs Hiring new talent
  • Managing mental health in game development, while maintaining high performance
  • The effects of layoffs and current state of gaming industry on team performance

Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman said: “It’s great to see collaboration between studios, particularly when those studios are Women in Games Corporate Ambassadors! It’s so important for women across the industry to work together in the collective goal of making the sector a better place – and this is a brilliant example of this work. Congratulations to Marina and Katya for hosting this session.”
