Two team members from our Corporate Ambassador, Riot Games, recently hosted the first Women in Games Ambassador event for Black Girls in Tech Ireland.

Both also Women in Games Ambassadors themselves, Charlotte Callaghan (Riot Games’ EMEA D&I Advisor – Partnerships & Products) and Patrick Ryan (Diversity & Inclusion Advisor at the studio) were the individuals behind the event.

Charlotte said: “The speed networking event was overall a resounding success and the enthusiastic response from the BGT community set the tone for a night of dynamic networking and learning.

“With the support of our colleagues at Riot Games, we facilitated meaningful dialogues between women working in games and those considering the industry. Through lots of conversation, folks shared valuable career insights and real career stories. We were lucky enough to have representation from Legal, Finance, Player Support, Localization, Privacy, Information Security and Engineering, which ensured a diverse and enriching experience for BGT members.

“Black Girls in Tech Speed Networking Event was a hit, well-attended, filled with great conversations, and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks to everyone involved, and we look forward to the next one!”

Women in Games Co-Director and Director of Ambassadors Gemma Johnson-Brown offered: “This is a great example of Corporate and Individual Ambassadors working within the local community to support women in games and the wider tech sector. We thank Charlotte and Patrick – and the Riot Games team – for hosting the event and sharing the news with us.”
