WIG AMBASSADOR LAUNCHES ‘PITCH TO PLATFORM’ INITIATIVE

Women in Games Ambassador Katy Reilly has kicked off a new initiative – Pitch to Platform – supporting women who want to build their confidence and experience in speaking at events and conferences.

Too often, the speaker line-ups we see at events lack diversity. This programme aims to help change that by equipping women with the skills and confidence to put themselves forward.

The first cohort has now begun working with Katy, who reveals that – while all participants are relatively new to public speaking – they boast a range of industry experience, from 3 years through to 10+ years, with representation across the UK, Europe, North America and MENA. Their backgrounds span game design, engineering, art and immersive technology, bringing a broad mix of perspectives and expertise to the programme.

Katy explained: “Pitch to Platform has just kicked off, and it’s already been incredibly inspiring to speak with such talented women. I’m excited to help them develop their ideas, and I’m confident we’ll see some fantastic new voices taking to stages across the games ecosystem.”

Women in Games CEO Dr Marie-Claire Isaaman added: “There is no shortage of women with valuable ideas and expertise in games, but speaking at an industry event can feel like a big leap, particularly the first time. Katy is giving participants the support to develop their ideas and find their voice. We’re proud to see a Women in Games Ambassador creating more opportunities for women to be heard across the industry.”
