WIG AMBASSADOR TO HOST THE WOMEN IN GAMES FORUM DURING GAMATHON EXPO AFRICA

Women in Games Ambassador Faith Benson is collaborating with Africacomicade to host safe-space workshops as part of the 2026 Gamathon Expo editions in Lagos, Nigeria, and Nairobi, Kenya. Women in Games Ambassador Director and Co-Director Gemma Brown will be taking part in the virtual Women in Games Forum on 26 October 26th, from 4:30–6:00pm WAT.

The workshops will create space for practical, open conversations about women’s experiences in the games industry, bringing together women working across games, immersive and interactive media, alongside industry professionals and veterans.

Discussions will cover career growth, workplace safety, mental health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on practical approaches to preventing, reporting and responding to harassment. Participants will also explore how organisations can establish clearer safety procedures, strengthen workplace policies and create more supportive professional environments for women.

The aim is to help attendees access useful knowledge, resources and connections that can support them throughout their careers. The sessions will offer an opportunity to share perspectives and consider what healthier workplaces look like in practice, from knowing how to raise a concern to understanding how employers can respond effectively.

The Forum will welcome game developers, creative industry professionals, founders and anyone interested in supporting women in the creative space.
