A REMINDER TO JOIN US NEXT WEEK FOR THE AMBASSADOR CONNECTS EVENT
Our next Ambassador Connects event takes place on Thursday September 10th – and we hope Ambassadors across our global community will join us for an afternoon of connection, practical learning and inspiration. If you’re a new Ambassador, this is an especially valuable opportunity to discover how you can get involved, make connections and start turning your ideas into action.
This is your space, your network and your opportunity to get more involved. Ambassador Connects is an interactive session designed around the people who make the Women in Games community what it is: our Ambassadors. It’s a place to learn from one another, ask questions, share experiences and challenges, and find practical ways to create positive change.
And this time, there’s something new: we’re inviting every Ambassador to bring a guest.
New to the Women in Games Ambassador Programme?
If you’ve recently become a Women in Games Ambassador, we particularly encourage you to join us.
With our Ambassador community continuing to grow around the world, we know that taking the first step can sometimes be the hardest part. You may be wondering where to find resources, how to connect with other Ambassadors, what activities you can become involved with – or how you can turn your own ideas into something tangible. Ambassador Connects is designed to help answer those questions.
We’ll take you through what is happening across Women in Games right now, our strategic priorities and the opportunities available to you. You’ll also discover the tools, templates and resources that can help you take action, as well as hearing directly from Ambassadors who are already organising events, building communities and creating opportunities within their own games ecosystems.
It’s also a fantastic way to meet fellow Ambassadors from different countries, disciplines and stages of their careers – and begin building your own network within our global community.
Learn from Ambassadors making an impact
Peer inspiration and practical learning will be at the heart of the afternoon. Ambassadors will share real experiences of running events and initiatives, building local communities and partnerships, and finding ways to make an impact. Importantly, these will be honest conversations about both what worked and what didn’t – providing practical lessons that others can take away and apply.
We’ll also share the latest Women in Games news and strategic updates, alongside developments across advocacy, education, talent pathways and community activation.
There will be an update on our partnership with Keywords Studios, which powers the Women in Games Ambassador Programme, including the support and opportunities available to our community.
Ambassadors can also expect practical guidance on running activities, building partnerships, marketing initiatives and demonstrating impact, together with a tour of the resources available to support you.
And because Ambassador Connects is intended to be a conversation rather than a broadcast, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, discuss challenges and share ideas.
Bring someone with you
For the first time, we’re also encouraging every Ambassador to invite someone who shares our ambition for a fair and equitable games industry. That could be a colleague, industry peer, mentor, friend or someone you’ve always thought would make a fantastic Women in Games Ambassador.
Rather than simply telling them about the Ambassador Programme, this is an opportunity for them to experience our community first-hand: to meet the people who bring it to life and see how Ambassadors across countries and disciplines collaborate, share knowledge, support one another and turn ideas into action.
How it works: All Women in Games Ambassadors are provided with a ‘Magic Link’ to allow them to register for the event. They will also have a ticket link to share with a friend, who can join the event to learn more about the Ambassador Programme – and how to become part of this global movement.
