A SPOTLIGHT ON OUR AMBASSADORS’ WORK

We are introducing a new regular article to highlight the work of our Ambassadors, to celebrate their achievements and to inspire others.

Some 156 new Ambassadors were onboarded recently, which means that we are proud that 1,320 women, girls and allies from around the world are now part of our Individual Ambassador Programme, which is powered by Keywords Studios.

The role of a Women in Games Ambassador is to engage with our agenda to support, empower and celebrate talented women in the games industry and esports.

We actively encourage our Ambassadors to host local events to help further these goals, and here we are showcasing some recent initiatives:

Ann Margaret Siquioco, Phillipines
Ann Margaret recently hosted her first project as a Women in Games Ambassador, the livestream WASD 2023: Breaking Into The Games Industry. The event was in partnership with , Google Developer Student Clubs PUP, Pylon Esports and Altitude Games, and was sponsored by AcadArena. Speakers included Luna Javier (Game Design), Arthur Estuar (Game Programming), and Eveth Nocon (2D Game Art). Hosted on Zoom, the event attracted 168 attendees. Yasmin Regis, US
Yasmin organised a Women in Games GDC Breakfast event during the San Francisco Conference. She invited women and allies to network, share stories and empower each other – and due to the high demand, the event was moved to an open space in the Yerba Buena Gardens where attendees enjoyed a picnic.

Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman said: “Congratulations to both Ann Margaret and Yasmin for hosting these events. It’s inspiring and heartening to see our Ambassadors amplifying our messages and our vision. We look forward to hearing more about other initiatives from our Ambassadors.”
