EVE ONLINE CREATOR BECOMES WOMEN IN GAMES CORPORATE AMBASSADOR

We are delighted to welcome CCP Games, the developer behind EVE Online, as our latest Corporate Ambassador.

The news comes as the community-driven sci-fi MMO game celebrates its 20th anniversary this month, with the EVE Online Viridian expansion being released next month.

Headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, CCP Games has additional offices in London and Shanghai. It is working on two additional projects: the Shanghai studio is developing a F2P 4X strategy game for mobile devices set in the EVE Universe, codenamed Project M5; the London studio is focused on developing an upcoming tactical FPS game in the setting of New Eden.

CCP Games’ VP of People Erna Arnardóttir (pictured) said: “We at CCP Games are very excited about becoming a Corporate Ambassador for Women in Games.

“We have always prided ourselves on having a fair and equal environment for all genders, and we feel like a collaboration with Women in Games will allow us to further empower women and girls to enter and thrive in this industry.

“This is a crucial mission as having gender diversity within any workplace will allow for more diverse points of views which will lead to better games and more inclusive work environments. We look forward to bettering the video game industry and to bringing on a positive societal change for all genders.”

Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman offered: “It’s our pleasure to welcome CCP Games – the studio behind the ground-breaking and multi-award winning EVE Online – to our Corporate Ambassador programme. We should also congratulate CCP on 20 years of this epic game, and look forward to collaborating with the team going forward.”
