HOW DOES GAMING EQUIP PEOPLE FOR LIFE? WOMEN IN GAMES JOINS THE DEBATE

Stick a note in your diary for the morning of February 3rd when Women in Games’ Director of Partnerships Lucy Rissik will take part in an important debate looking at gaming can affect young people’s lives.

The webinar is being hosted by UK charity Catch22, and takes place ahead of Safer Internet Day. Gaming is enjoyed by many young people and, while it can present challenges in terms of keeping safe online, there are myriad opportunities for developing soft skills. This event will bring together young gamers, policy professionals and employers to discuss:

  • How skills from gaming can equip people for the job market
  • The social benefits of gaming and how great relationships are built through gaming
  • The safety risks and online harms relating to gaming – and how they can be tackled

Joining Lucy on the panel will be David Barrie, Game Academy; Cliff Manning, ParentZone, George Osborn, Ukie; and Naomi Hulston, Catch22.
