USTWO BECOMES ONE WITH WOMEN IN GAMES

BAFTA Award winning indie developer and publisher ustwo games has become a Women in Games Corporate Ambassador.

The studio is the developer of Monument Valley and Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, and has recently created Desta: The Memories Between which is available on mobile in partnership with Netflix, and will be published by ustwo on PC and console formats shortly. The game has already garnered much attention and acclaim due to its exploration of themes such as self-reflection, loss, regret and identity, through the eyes of ustwo games’ first non-binary protagonist Desta.

Julie Piedrabuena (pictured), Head of People and Culture at ustwo games said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the Women in Games Corporate Ambassador programme, which is such an important initiative for women at all levels across our amazing industry. Our goal is always to use business as a force for good, whether that’s fulfilling our remit as a certified B Corp, having a clear ED&I mission or creating socially-aware games that draw on the real life experiences of our team. We can’t wait to support Women in Games in its work to build a fairer, gender equal playing field for current and future generations of women working at developers, publishers and service providers across the world.

“We look forward to learning and being inspired by the great Women in Games team and fellow members of the community, as we continue to look for ways to improve and grow.”

Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman added: “ustwo games’ commitment to social responsibility through its actions as a B Corp and the themes of its games is clear, and to be applauded. We are delighted that the studio is joining Women in Games as a Corporate Ambassador, and we look forward to working with the team to support women working in games everywhere.”
