VGE ENCOURAGES PARENTS TO ‘SEIZE THE CONTROLS’ ONCE MORE

Our Corporate Ambassador Video Games Europe will next week (December 9th) kick off its annual pre-holidays #SeizeTheControls campaign, sharing useful tips and guidance to empower parents and ensure video gameplay is always a happy, positive, rewarding experience.

The campaign, promoted around Europe by Video Games Europe member trade associations and companies, is in its fourth year and aims to remind parents of the tools available to them to set up the best video gameplay experience for their family. It provides five useful tips on how to manage video gameplay, such as: checking the PEGI age ratings, using parental guidance tools and encouraging parents to play the games with their children to facilitate conversations around play time, game choices and topics like optional purchases of in-game content.

With latest research revealing that 76% of the parents of children that play games say their children do not make in game purchases, and 95% of parents of children who do buy in-game extras actively monitor their children’s spending, it would seem that the messaging from Video Games Europe is cutting through with parents.

You can check out the many resources the campaign provides – from step-by-step guides for setting up parental guidance tools to speaking to your children about their games, online spending, and agreeing on ground rules that works for everyone in the family – by visiting the website here – https://www.seizethecontrols.eu
