Women in Games appoints Director of PR & Communications

Lisa Carter has been appointed as Director of PR & Communications for Women in Games.
Lisa has been working with the organisation since July this year, taking on the role of Festival Producer and working alongside Women in Games Marie-Claire Isaaman and the team to co-ordinate the two-week Festival, which encompassed the annual Conference, Women in Games Global Awards, Games Jam, Esports Tournament and more.
With Women in Games expanding and extending its activities, Lisa has now been appointed as Director of PR & Communications and joins the Executive Board.
Lisa has worked in the games industry for over 25 years, joining as Deputy Editor on industry magazine CTW. She helped to launch MCV in 1998, and then went on to launch Develop Magazine, Mobile Entertainment Magazine and more titles outside of games, but within the tech and entertainment sectors.
In 2015, she left to co-found the boutique communications and events agency Mimram Media.
She said: “It’s an absolute honour to be asked to work with Women in Games and to help this important organisation to spread the word about its valuable work in supporting women in games and esports.
“Women in Games has some incredibly ambitious and exciting plans for activities going forward and I’m looking forward to be working with the team at this pivotal moment for the organisation.”
Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman added: “This is an important moment in the development of the organisation and its work. We are expanding activities and impacts globally across all of our four pillars: Policy, Community, Industry and Education. We are therefore delighted to welcome Lisa, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience within the sector to our Executive Board as Director of PR and Communications”.
