WORK IN MARKETING & COMMS? JOIN THIS WOMEN IN GAMES GROUP!

Amanda Monfrooe, Content Strategist, Copywriter, Editor and Women in Games Ambassador is calling for marketing and communications professionals to team up to help the goals of Women in Games…

Marketing and communications professionals in the Women in Games community have a lot to contribute to the organisation’s mission. I’m one of them, and as a Women in Games Ambassador, I’m co-ordinating a subgroup to help us do it.

Let’s start by setting the agenda. We’ll survey women in our networks and women in regions and niches outside of our circles. We’re listening for the trends, skills, challenges and opportunities this subgroup should focus on. We’re also looking for the best ways to make these conversations accessible to people with too much to do, in different circumstances and time zones.

Next, we’ll use what we learn to make plans. I can’t know what we’ll create yet, but I anticipate online events delivering skill-building, knowledge exchange and structured networking. If people are in place, IRL events could happen where you are.

When the time is right, we’ll deliver these events.

Who is ‘we’?

Marketing and communications is a broad church, but we need shared interests and goals to be effective. So, I’ll specifically invite freelance, in-house and agency marketers from across disciplines, specialists in copy and design fields, PR folks, bloggers, journalists and researchers. Email me anyway if that’s not you, but you think the group is for you.
