A COMMUNITY THAT KEEPS GROWING – A MESSAGE FROM OUR AMBASSADOR DIRECTOR GEMMA BROWN

I’m delighted to welcome our latest cohort of Individual Ambassadors to Women in Games. To everyone joining us – welcome. You are now part of a global network of women and allies who believe in creating a games industry where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, contribute and lead. Our Ambassador Programme – powered by Keywords Studios – continues to grow because of people like you who are prepared to use your voice, your experience and your passion to create positive change.
What always inspires me most is that no two Ambassadors are the same. Some organise local meet-ups, some mentor students, others speak at conferences, share industry insights online or simply start conversations that make someone feel they belong. Every contribution matters, and together those individual actions create something far bigger than any one of us could achieve alone.
That spirit of collaboration is exactly why I’m delighted to introduce the first members of our Women in Games Creator Circle. This new initiative brings together Ambassadors who are already shaping conversations through streaming, podcasts, social media, writing and community building. The Creator Circle isn’t about broadcasting a message – it’s about working together to tell authentic stories, amplify diverse voices and help more people discover the opportunities our industry has to offer.
Collaboration is also at the heart of our next Ambassador Connects event on September 10th, and this time we’re doing something a little different. For the first time, every Ambassador is invited to bring a friend.
Whether it’s a colleague, a friend, or someone you’ve always thought would make an outstanding Ambassador, this is your opportunity to introduce them to the community that makes Women in Games so special. They’ll hear directly from Ambassadors around the world, learn about the impact you’re making, and experience the supportive, collaborative culture that defines our programme. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to invite someone who shares our vision for a more equitable games industry.
Finally, we’d love your help with something fun! We’re launching a new Women in Games merchandise collection, and we’re inviting Women in Games Ambassadors to join the design process and help us create something amazing. The competition is open to all Ambassadors now, with the winning designs announced at September’s Ambassador Connects event. Who better to help design merchandise for our community than the community itself?
Thank you for everything you continue to do as Ambassadors. Whether you’ve been with us for years or you’ve only just joined the Programme, your enthusiasm, generosity and commitment are what make this programme so special.
We can’t wait to see what we build together over the months ahead.
